1) We'll be having our Investiture Rehearsal on 21 Feb 2009, Sat. (Actual invest is on 23 Feb) Please book off this date in your calendar. This is a COMPULSORY rehearsal, so we're telling you way in advance. Further details will be disseminated nearer the rehearsal.

NEW DETAILS: the investiture rehearsal on 21st Feb will from 9.30AM - 1PM, in school. We would be playing with the actual instruments at the actual stage on that day.

2) Your HODs/aHODs should have sent you the investiture stomp scores by now. If you haven't received them, please check your emails ASAP. And please remember to learn the rhythms (BY HEART if you're able to!) by the next wed session, 4th Feb. Just fyi, we're supposed to be play as a council by 18th Feb. So jiayou! Continue practising (:

Venue: Christ Church Secondary School (20 Woodlands Drive 17)
Dates: 6th and 7th February
Reporting Time: Day 1- 1300, Day 2- 0800
Ending Time: Day 1&2- 1730
Key speaker: Mr. Teo Ser Luck- Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Community, youth and sports, and transport

Attire: School uniform with jacket
Things to bring: Pen, paper, 2 passport photos (with full name, NRIC number, School name written behind it)

There will be some books sold at the exhibition booths, you can bring money to purchase if you want.
4.
Three are 3 different courses that can be attended. For us councillors, we'll be attending the
Executive Track- Student Councilors, Peer Support leaders (For Upper Sec and JCs)

Attn: All SCs attending the leadership symposium at Christ Church Secondary, 6-7 Feb

For those who missed my tag, please be informed that there will be no transport to the symposium venue, but there will be leave forms issued on the 6th. Scs are to make their own way there. Also, there is no need to wear blazers; you can bring along sweaters if you want to. For further details, please look for Kiat Shing. Enjoy! You may need to do a little sharing when you come back, though. (:

Since it's the first meeting of the year, i'll be a lil nicer and post the details of it haha.

1. Mrs Low's address
-Structure of JH and SH SC.
-Teachers in JH and SH SC.
-Application of leave forms.

2. Nicole's address
-Expected conduct of SCs
-Directions for the year:
to work with other DHS school leaders
to take part actively in interschool SC events
to network with other school councillors
to co-host a simple event with another school
to prepare all SCs for hosting a leadership symposium (for secondary lvl and beyond) possibly in year 2010.

-jobscope of each department.
-all departments to come up with their action plans for year 2009, by 31st January.

3. Next Wednesday's agenda.
-Investiture (we're inviting 30 SCs from other schools this year)
-Learn the investiture performances
-Details of investiture.
-Possibly, the releasing of various event committees

Dear SCs,

It's the 5th year since SC came into place in DHS, way past the years of forming and structuring. We've settled the internal SC affairs, gotten past the process of identifying ourselves years back. They've already laid the foundations for us.

So let's make this year a year of performing as Student Councils of Dunman High. Whichever event you're going to do, whichever dept you're in, you have to outshine the past years.
Just know, action plans remain as plans, until you put them into action. (:

SC Gate Duty 2009

1. SCs on duty are to report to their respective venues before the marching song starts. Duty ends when flag raising ends.
2. SCs are to find a replacement if they are unable to make it for duty on any days.
3. SCs on duty are to inform their form teachers about their absence from flag raising.
4. SCs are not required to take down the names of late students.

Guidelines for duty:

-Tell people to hurry to the parade square if marching song is ending

-Stop anyone from moving and get them to wait if Flag Raising has started

Good job Orientation Comm and all SCs! Great job really well done for DHSpectrum! :D Take a really well-deserved break this weekend (but please do finish up all homework) and do your very best for 2009!
