Reminiscence; Rediscovering Memories Diao Tian Hui- Corporate Relations Be inspired by Tian Hui's most touching reflection on her experience as an SC... Joining the SC family only at the end of last year, I am probably one of the youngest members though I am leaving SC junior section now. The past year as in SC was an invaluable experience for me. I still vividly recall the scared me when I first stepped into the hostel reading room for the SC in-house camp last November. I was so worried that I could not communicate well with others because of my poor language foundation. But later I found out that my worries then were so unnecessary as my group mates were such wonderful people that they cheered me up by saying “it is ok” and telling me that I do have what it takes, I just needed a little bit more of courage. I remember Dinah, my group leader made an effort to talk to me in Chinese, just to get me involved. I was so touched and realized that SCs are not a bunch of highly disciplined serious people but caring and fun-loving friends. I have been a student councilor for nine months, I had learned, I had sown and I have grown. Through participating in events like Year 1 Orientation and Youth day Celebration, I improved my communication and leadership skills. By working with different people for the preparation of Chinese New Year Celebration and school tour, I have learned to be willing to appreciate other people’s excellence positively, as everyone in SC is so great. This had inspired and sparked my creativity and also brought me precious camaraderie with my fellow SCs. SC had made me proud but it also comes with responsibility. From the moment I received the SC badge from Mr Sng at the investiture, I told myself and had been constantly reminding myself to uphold a good image of a student leader whatever I do and wherever I go. SC work sometimes put pressure on my busy timetable, but it depends on how you look at it because the way I see it is that the tight schedule had taught me to plan and do everything efficiently with strictly no procrastination. Now it’s the time for passing down, I just want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone, for being there and helping me all along. I wish that exco 07/08 will bring SC to greater heights and of course, with everyone else’s contribution and effort. LET’S MAKE A DIFFERENCE! =) ![]() Diao Tian Hui 4C we will definitely strive hard to make a difference and bring smiles to others! :D We won't let you down Tian Hui, but we'll definitely miss ya loads! |
